The seafront can be noisy and crowded, especially when fan zones and large events take over. The city-centre bars can be convenient, but convenience isn’t always the same as character.
Fiveways feels different.
It’s a lived-in Brighton neighbourhood with local shops, familiar faces, and a slower, more sociable rhythm. Here, you can settle in rather than rush through another round in a packed bar. Brighton Station to Fiveways: the easy walking route
Allow around 20–25 minutes at an easy pace, or closer to 15–20 minutes if you’re walking briskly.
- Leave Brighton Station through the main entrance and head towards the city centre.
- Walk down towards Trafalgar Street and continue towards the crossroads by St Peter’s Church.
- From there, follow London Road north, passing through the city streets towards Preston Circus.
- At Preston Circus, follow the route towards Ditchling Road.
- Continue uphill along Ditchling Road for around 10–15 minutes.
- Look for Lost and Found at number 298, close to the Fiveways junction.
You’ll know you’re getting close when the streets become more residential and the pace starts to feel a little less central. No beach crowds. No big-label shuffle. Just Fiveways, Ditchling Road, and a green-fronted taproom where the fridges and taps are ready for you.

We are not a brewery. We’re an independent craft beer taproom and bottleshop, dedicated to bringing exceptional beer from Sussex producers to the people who want to drink it.

Most weekends, an independent street food van parks up outside the taproom. Menus change, but you might find smoky barbecue, loaded fries, dumplings, bao buns, burgers, or other food made by local external partners.
There is no on-site kitchen or oven at Lost and Found. Instead, we work with street food vans and external catering partners to bring something different to the door.
It’s a brilliant match for the beer: casual, generous, full of flavour, and best enjoyed with friends gathered around outdoor tables or inside the cosy taproom.

Found a Sussex beer you love?
Our fridges are stocked with independent local beers to take away, so your visit doesn’t have to end when your glass is empty. Pick up a few cans or bottles for the train home, a picnic the next day, or simply for continuing the tasting session later.
We also offer locally curated wines, selected with help from a Brighton wine specialist. So if one person in your group is more interested in wine than beer, they won’t be left staring sadly at an empty glass.

Private hire means the whole taproom is yours for the night, with space for up to 80 guests inside. There’s no hire fee, although bookings are subject to a minimum bar spend : from £250 midweek and £1,000 at weekends.
We regularly host birthdays, work socials, family celebrations, receptions, and other gatherings. You can bring decorations, arrange your own playlist or DJ, and choose the Sussex beer, cider and wine you’d like behind the bar.
